Woman claims late relative experienced multiple falls at nursing home

Medical malpractice 06

CHICAGO — An estate representative is suing Alexian Village of Elk Grove; Manor Care of Elk Grove Village; and Friendship Village of Schaumburg, alleging negligence for allowing a former resident to be injured in a fall.

Camille Basak, as independent executor of the estate of Marion Karl, filed a complaint on April 25 in Cook County Circuit Court against the nursing home alleging it failed to provide proper care to Karl.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Karl experienced pain from multiple falls while in care at the nursing facility. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the home allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision and assistance to Karl to address her risk of falling.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Michael J. Eisenberg of Rosenberg, Eisenberg & Associates LLC in Arlington Heights.
