CHICAGO —  A patient's family is suing Mayfield Healthcare and Rehabilitation Centre and The Mosaic of Mayfield, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and negligence.

Debra Pickett, as independent administrator of the estate of Gary Pickett, filed a complaint on May 1 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the defendants failed to provide proper care to Gary Pickett.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Pickett experienced pain from suffering a fall and from the development of infections. The plaintiff holds the nursing facility responsible because it allegedly failed to provide adequate assistance and supervision to Pickett to address his risk of falling and provide the necessary treatment for his infections.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Kristen N. Koeller of Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates P.C. in Chicago.
