CHICAGO — A woman is suing John Mitchell and his employer, Aldi Inc., for a relative's death after she was struck by a vehicle outside a Chicago Aldi store.

Joan V. Schalk, special administrator of the estate of Lisa Marie Schalk, filed a complaint on Nov. 8 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Mitchell failed to properly control his vehicle, allegedly striking and killing Lisa Marie Schalk, who was riding a bicycle on Oct. 30 on Archer Avenue, near S. Lorel Avenue, in Chicago.

The plaintiff also claims that Mitchel was "under the direct control and supervision" of Aldi at the time of the accident.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs, interest and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Michael S. Keating of Keating Law Offices P.C. in Chicago.
