Metrosouth Medical Center accused of failing to prevent woman's cardiac distress

Medical malpractice 04

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Metrosouth Medical Center for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Denise Cooper, special administrator for the estate of Delores Williams, filed a complaint on Nov. 15 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Williams suffered cardiac distress, which allegedly contributed to the deterioration of her overall health while in the defendants' care. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to recognize Williams' symptoms and provide the necessary treatment despite allegedly knowing that she was at risk of a serious cardiac event.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 plus any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Gerard Stocco of Illinois Law Group in Warrenville.
