The University of Chicago Medical Center, others allegedly failed to properly treat viral infection

A mother is suing Dr. Wichest Boonyapredee, Dr. Ishmael Ibassi, the University of Chicago Medical Center and Community Hospital of Munster for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent her child's injuries.

CHICAGO — A mother is suing Dr. Wichest Boonyapredee, Dr. Ishmael Ibassi, the University of Chicago Medical Center and Community Hospital of Munster for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent her child's injuries.

Katelyn Golden, on behalf of her son, filed a complaint on Nov. 13 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants failed to timely diagnose her son's cytomegalovirus infection and transport him to a tertiary care center in order to properly treat the infection.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court. She is represented by Bradley Z. Schulman of Motherway & Napleton LLP in Chicago.
