CHICAGO — An estate administrator is suing Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center LLC, Care Centers Health Systems LLC, Extended Care Consulting LLC, four nurses, Glenshire Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre Ltd., and Glen Health and Home Management Inc. for alleged negligence.
Bernita Smith, independent administrator to collect of the estate of Mayner Porte, filed a complaint on Nov. 9 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Porte sustained serious physical injuries when signs of respiratory distress were not timely addressed, allegedly causing her health to greatly deteriorate. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to provide oxygen therapy to Porte and adequately monitor her condition.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court. She is represented by Paul D. Richter and Caitlin K. Finnegan of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz in Chicago.
