CHICAGO — The city of Chicago is suing Resource Center for alleged liability and violation of law.
The city filed a complaint on Nov. 16 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendant conducted recycling operations at its facility without a valid permit.
According to the complaint, the city alleges Resource failed to comply with a notice that states the defendant's permit was void and that it needed to have its facility cleared of all waste and recyclables no later than Aug. 17.
The city asks the court to declare the defendant has created an ongoing statutory public nuisance, to order the defendant to cease and desist its ongoing operations, to order the defendant to pay all court costs and any further relief this court grants. The city is represented by attorneys with its Department of Law.
