CHICAGO — A man is suing Chicago Police for alleged negligent misrepresentation, violation of civil rights and violation of federal law.
Jermell Evans filed a complaint on Nov. 29 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging police made false claims about him, which allegedly resulted in him being incarcerated for more than two years.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants for compensatory damages, punitive damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Michael I. Leonard and Ethan E. White of Leonard Meyer LLP in Chicago.
