The Grove at the Lake blamed for woman's pressure ulcers, wrongful death

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Grove at the Lake Skilled Nursing Facility LLC and related entities for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries and wrongful death.

Rita Michelle Pointer, independent administrator of the estate of Doris Marie Johnson, filed a complaint on Dec. 21 in the Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Johnson experienced pain allegedly caused by developing pressure ulcers and suffering from dehydration, which allegedly contributed to the deterioration of her health, and contributing to her death. 

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Molly L. Condon of Hurley McKenna & Mertz P.C. in Chicago.
