Northwestern Memorial Hospital, others allegedly failed to provide proper medical care

CHICAGO — A man is suing Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Presence Saint Joseph Hospital - Chicago and Dr. Alex W. Farnand for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Scott Patterson, by his attorney in fact, Annette Dymbroski, filed a complaint on Jan. 18 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging he sustained serious physical injuries as a result of a trach exchange that was performed on him. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to supervise their employee while performing a trach exchange and for allegedly ordering the procedure with a tracheostomy tube that allegedly was not long enough.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. He is represented by Patrick A. Salvi II, Thomas Mulroy III and Carly E. Shannon of Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. in Chicago.
