Law money 13

CHICAGO — Two employees have filed a class action lawsuit against Roadrunner Transportation Systems Inc. and Adrian Carriers LLC for allegedly failing to properly compensate their employees.

Sol Spates and Wesley Lewis filed a complaint on March 26 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging they worked as drivers, but allegedly were not compensated for all the hours they worked. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible for allegedly improperly classifying their employees as independent contractors to avoid paying them a proper wage.

The plaintiffs seek compensatory damages, all wages due, improper deductions, 2 percent interest, liquidated damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by James B. Zouras and Catherine Mitchell of Stephan Zouras LLP in Chicago and Harold Lichten and Thomas Fowler of Lichten & Liss-Riordan P.C. in Boston.
