Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital, others accused of negligence after allegedly failing to properly perform surgery

CHICAGO — A couple is suing Alexian Brothers-AHS Midwest Region Health Co., Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital and Dr. Jason Goliath for alleged loss of consortium and negligence.

Lori Williams-Sheffey and Gaylord Sheffey filed a complaint on April 18 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Williams-Sheffey suffered severe, permanent and debilitating injuries that required additional medical care because Goliath allegedly performed a surgical procedure on her leg in a negligent manner. Additionally, Sheffey allegedly suffered the loss of consortium with Williams-Sheffey, his wife. 

The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to utilize proper techniques during the surgery and for allegedly failing to provide proper post-operative wound care.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. They are represented by Hall Adams of the Law Offices of Hall Adams LLC in Chicago.
