CHICAGO — A man has filed a class action lawsuit against T-Mobile US Inc. for allegedly violating federal telecommunications laws by sending him and others text messages without their consent.

Curron Pritchett filed a complaint on April 30 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendant violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by allegedly sending intrusive and unsolicited text messages.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges he and other similarly situated individuals have suffered abuse, harassment and had their privacy invaded because the defendant allegedly sent them unsolicited marketing text messages.

The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly engaging in an unlawful practice of using an autodialer to transmit unsolicited text messages to random numbers without consent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for the full amount of his damages, plus all costs, attorney's fees and interest. He is represented by William H. Beaumont of Beaumont Costales LLC in Chicago.
