CHICAGO — A business is suing a law firm for alleged breach of duty and legal malpractice.

Casdan Inc. filed a complaint on April 27 in Cook County Circuit Court against Harold Rosen and Wolin & Rosen Ltd., alleging the defendants failed to provide proper legal assistance.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges it had entered into a lease agreement with its landlord. The plaintiff claims the defendants were responsible for notifying the landlord if the tenant wanted to extend the lease. But the defendants allegedly failed to send the required notice to the landlord. As a result, the plaintiff claims that its lease was terminated and the defendants should be liable for moving expenses and the costs of setting up its business at another location.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment of more than $100,000, plus interest, attorney's fees, costs and any further relief that the court deems appropriate. The plaintiff is represented by Michael C. Bruck of Spellmire Bruck LLP in Chicago.
