Medical malpractice 09

CHICAGO — A couple is suing Dr. Robin L. Favor, Suburban Surgical Associates/Suburban Metabolic Institute and MacNeal Hospital for alleged medical malpractice and loss of consortium.

Clelia Dompe and Luis Izaguirre filed a complaint on May 11 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants performed a cholecystectomy on Dompe. After the procedure, she allegedly suffered abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, and she allegedly was diagnosed with right hepatic duct stenosis, an obstructed biliary stent and a complete obstruction of the right biliary tree.

As a result, Dompe allegedly suffered physical injuries, and her husband, Izaguirre, allegedly was deprived of her companionship. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to diagnose or treat Dompe's condition in a timely manner.
