CHICAGO — A woman is suing United Airlines, a pilot and the  ity of Chicago for alleged negligence, claiming she was injured when an aircraft on which she was a passenger suddenly braked.

Yasmeeem U. Watson filed a complaint on May 8 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the pilot slammed on the brakes to avoid colliding with an inbound airplane. As a result, the plaintiff claims she suffered internal and external injuries, pain, financial damages and medical expenses as a result of the pilot's alleged carelessness.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000, plus the costs of the lawsuit and any other damages that the jury and court deem proper. She is represented by Jason H. Sherwood of Sherwood Law Group LLC in Chicago.
