CHICAGO — A man is suing Solid Gold Food & Liquor Inc. and Challenge Discount Inc. for alleged negligence.

Wayne Frazier filed a complaint on May 11 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging a security guard at the store shot him multiple times while he was in front of the store. The plaintiff further alleges the guard was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the shooting.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to properly train their employees on how to properly use a firearm and for allegedly allowing an employee to perform his job duties under the influence of alcohol.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants greater than $50,000, plus the costs of the suit. He is represented by David M. Sternberg of Sachs, Earnest & Associates Ltd. in Chicago.
