CHICAGO — An airline passenger has filed a class action lawsuit against Air India Ltd. and Air India, citing alleged breach of duty and negligence.

Tayabali Lokhandwala filed a complaint on May 2 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants failed to properly handle his checked luggage.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges, when he arrived at his destination, his luggage had been lost. Although his luggage allegedly was found three weeks after his flight, he claims his bag had been opened and some items had been removed.
