CHICAGO — A married couple is suing Dr. Steven L. Blum, NorthShore University HealthSystem Medical Group and NorthShore University HealthSystem for alleged negligence.
Leah Goldsmith and Andrew Andris Ruhloff filed a complaint on May 15 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants failed to provide Goldsmith with proper medical care.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege Goldsmith suffered a thermal injury to her colon while undergoing a medical procedure allegedly performed by the defendants. As a result, Goldsmith claims she experienced physical injuries, pain and suffering, pecuniary losses and permanent damages to her body. Her husband, Andrew Andris Ruhloff, claims he lost her companionship, services and affection. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to properly perform a medical procedure.
