CHICAGO — A husband and wife are suing a doctor, Daniel Laich, D.O., and Swedish Covenant Management, alleging loss of consortium and negligence.

Michael Travers and Sarah Travers filed a complaint on Aug. 23 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging they inadequately monitored and managed Michael's condition.

The plaintiffs allege on Sept. 7, 2016, Travers underwent a medical procedure for a neurologic condition. The surgical procedure was done in a manner that caused neurologic injury, they claim. 

The plaintiffs claim the defendants allegedly failed to properly diagnose the cause of his complaints, to properly treat the condition, and to properly address the plaintiff's continuing symptoms following surgery.

The plaintiffs seek mor than $50,000. They are represented by Howard Schaffner of Hofeld and Schaffner in Chicago.
