CHICAGO — A man is suing an assisted living facility, alleging that a loved one suffered a fall, contributing to her death.

Barry Stiltner,  independent administrator of the estate of Evelyn Stiltner, filed a complaint in Cook County Circuit Court against Presence Villa Scalabrini Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Presence Life Connections.

According to the complaint, Evelyn Stiltner was a resident at the defendant's property in Northlake from September 2016, through April 2018. Stiltner fell and suffered a hip fracture in March 2018, allegedly due to the defendant's negligence to properly monitor and care for her. She later died.

The defendant is accused of negligence and wrongful death.

The plaintiff is seeking damages, plus attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Susan L. Novosad and David M. Bulgarelli of Levin & Perconti, of Chicago.
