CHICAGO — A woman's death has been blamed in part on the alleged negligence of personnel at a Beecher nursing home.

Debra Doise as independent administrator of the estate of Virginia Dobson, filed a complaint on March 18 in Cook County Circuit Court against Beecher Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center LLC.

According to the complaint, Virginia Dobson was a patient and resident at the Beecher facility in June 2017 and was at high risk for the development of pressure ulcers. The complaint alleges the defendant was negligent in Dobson's care, which caused her to suffer ulcers, which worsened and contributed to her death.

The defendant is accused of wrongful death and negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking more than $50,000, plus attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Marc Weissman of The Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates P.C. in Chicago.
