CHICAGO — A Glenview man is suing the Teamsters union, alleging their picketing caused distress to his family.

Thomas Keenan filed a complaint July 3 in Cook County Circuit Court against the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 705, alleging infliction of emotional distress.

According to the complaint, Keenan resides in Glenview with his family. On June 26, the suit alleges, 15-20 Teamsters members appeared on or near the plaintiff's property, displaying a large inflatable rat and distributing leaflets to passers-by. The plaintiff alleges the picketing caused his family emotional distress and that it will continue unless action is taken to stop it.

Keenan seeks attorney fees and a restraining order against the Teamsters to prevent them from picketing within 1,000 feet of his home. He is represented by attorneys Aldo E. Botti and Michael R. Botti of Botti Law Firm PC in Oak Brook.
