CHICAGO, July 17, 2023 — Lawdragon has named Chicago attorney Brian Shaw, a member of Cozen O’Connor’s Bankruptcy, Insolvency & Restructuring practice, to its 2023 list of the Top 500 Leading U.S. Bankruptcy and Restructuring Lawyers.

He has guided Chapter 11 debtors, Chapter 7 and 11 trustees, creditors’ and noteholders’ committees, assignees, landlords, liquidating trustees, labor organizations, preference and fraudulent conveyance defendants, receivers, and secured and unsecured creditors through all aspects of bankruptcy, insolvency, and restructuring.
Shaw currently serves on The American College of Bankruptcy Board of Regents. He previously served as president of the American Bankruptcy Institute and has also chaired the Chicago Bar Association’s Bankruptcy and Reorganization Section.
He has earned accolades from Chambers USA, Super Lawyers (Top 100 in Illinois) and Best Lawyers in America. Shaw is also a regular contributor on bankruptcy issues for Law360.
He received his law degree (J.D., magna cum laude, 1993) from the University of Illinois College of Law and his undergraduate degree (B.A., cum laude, 1989) from Tufts University.
