Gwen Biasi has filed a lawsuit against her former employer, the American Medical Association (AMA), alleging sex and age discrimination. The case, registered under ID 1:24-cv-03170, was filed on April 19, 2024, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Biasi's attorneys from Cole Sadkin, LLC claim that the AMA subjected her to an excessive workload, harsh criticism, negative performance reviews, and a performance improvement plan after she initially charged them with discrimination. Biasi alleges that her male and younger colleagues did not face such treatment. She was terminated from her position at AMA in August 2023.

The plaintiff is seeking backpay, compensatory and punitive damages, attorney’s fees, and costs. She had previously filed a timely Charge of Discrimination with the EEOC on August 6, 2021.
