Man sues after being struck by car in Chicago

A Cook County man is suing another Chicago-area driver over personal injuries sustained in vehicle-pedestrian collision that occurred in the spring of 2013.

Timothy Wennerberg filed suit in the Cook County Circuit Court on May 7 against Charles Hale, the alleged driver of the vehicle involved in the incident. Wennerberg is seeking compensation in a trial by jury.

Wennerberg’s suit states that, on May 9, 2013, he was crossing Ridgeland Avenue near 103rd Street in Chicago when he was struck by a vehicle driven by Hale. Wennerberg’s case alleges negligence on the part of Hale for failing to obey a traffic device, driving too fast in the presence of pedestrians, failing to adjust speed to avoid a collision and several other failures of care and attention while driving.

Wennerberg claims to have sustained injuries of a personal and pecuniary nature and is seeking damages in excess of $50,000. He is represented by attorney Scott P. Steadman of Pfaff, Gill & Ports Ltd. in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015L004740.
