Suit: Man died hours after transportation company failed to pick up him for medical appointment

Kryder

The son of a recently deceased man claims a medical transportation company failed to bring his father to a scheduled dialysis treatment, causing his death.

Omega McDaniels filed a wrongful death lawsuit July 8 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Family First Transportation Corp.

In his complaint, McDaniels alleges Family First was scheduled to pick up his father, James M. Conway Jr., to take him to a scheduled dialysis appointment at Metro South Hospital on July 8, 2013.

However, the suit states, Family First failed to pick up Conway , who died several hours later. McDaniels claims his father's death caused a loss of companionship and society and resulted in medical, hospital and funeral expenses.

McDaniels blames Family First for causing his father’s death, saying it failed to transport Conway for his appointment, take him to a scheduled appointment and document the failed transportation service.

McDaniels is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs, and is being represented by The Law Offices of Andrew S. Kryder in Chicago.
