Slip and fall over noodles spurs suit against hibachi grill restaurant

Kelly

A woman claims she suffered various injuries after she fell on noodles and water laying on the floor of an Oak Lawn restaurant.

Monique Matthews filed a lawsuit July 8 in Cook County Circuit Court against Royal Palace Inc., Buffet City and Hibachi Grill & Sushi Buffet.

In her complaint, Matthews alleges she slipped on noodles and water on the floor of Hibachi Grill & Sushi Buffet on Aug. 4, 2012. As a result of her fall, Matthews claims she suffered permanent injuries.

Matthews blames the defendants for causing her fall, saying their employees negligently allowed a dangerous condition, failed to fix the condition, failed to adequately maintain the premises and didn't warn of the condition.

She is seeking a judgment of more than $150,000, plus costs, and is being represented by Benjamin B. Kelly of The Vrdolyak Law Group in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2014L007149.
