A woman claims she tripped on a city sidewalk that was in poor condition.
Kristina Patterson filed a lawsuit July 1 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the City of Chicago and the Chicago Park District.
In her complaint, Patterson alleges she was walking on a sidewalk near 501 East 90th Place in Chicago on July 24, 2013, when she tripped on cracked, displaced and uneven concrete, causing her to fall.
Patterson blames the city and park district for causing her injuries, saying they allowed a dangerous condition, failed to remedy and maintain the sidewalk, and created a dangerous condition at the sidewalk.
Patterson seeks a judgment of more than $100,000, plus costs, and is being represented by attorney David J. Gallagher of The Vrdolyak Law Group in Chicago.
