A man is suing the owner and manager of a Near North Side nightclub over claims he was assaulted by a drunk patron.
Said Mustafa filed a complaint Nov. 4 in Cook County Circuit Court against Nick & Howard, doing business as The Underground Chicago, and Rockit Ranch Productions.
Mustafa claims that while visiting The Underground on Aug. 11, 2013, he was attacked by a drunk patron and the security staff made no effort to remove his alleged attacker during or before the incident even though he showed signs of aggression.
Because of overcrowding at the nightclub and the defendants' negligence, Mustafa claims the security team was unable to effectively monitor possible dangerous activity and he was attacked, suffering injuries.
Mustafa is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs, and is represented by attorneys from the Deratany Firm of Chicago.
