A tenant is suing an apartment complex over claims his apartment unit was infested with bedbugs.

Maurice Mitchell Jr. filed a lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court against Naub LLC and 5812 Properties LLC, alleging breach of the implied warranty of habitability.

According to the complaint, Naub rented an apartment unit in the 6900 block of South Stoney Island Avenue to Mitchell who claims he found the unit infested with bedbugs. He claims the defendants knew or should have known of the existence of the bugs and failed to prevent the infestation, properly maintain the premises and keep it in a safe and sanitary condition.

Mitchell is represented by the Hall Adams of Law Offices of Hall Adams in Chicago.
