A woman is seeking damages from a physician over alleged negligence after a surgery.
Maria Chelebek of Chicago filed suit on Sept.10 in Cook County Circuit Court against Nathaniel Crump Jr. M.D., the University of Chicago Medical Center and June Rudnicki, M.D.
According to the complaint, on Oct. 6, 2013, Chelebek visited Crump for the purpose of diagnosis, treatment and gynecological care. She continued to see him on various days forthwith, from Oct. 6 to Oct. 16. On Oct. 7, 2013, the plaintiff received a robotic total hysterectomy administered by Crump. During the course of said procedure, the plaintiff allegedly suffered damages and permanent injuries to the left ureter requiring multiple surgical procedures in an attempt to repair said damage allegedly caused by the defendant's negligence.
The plaintiff also names Rudnicki as respondent in discovery as an individual who she believes has essential information as to who should be properly named as an additional defendant in this action.
The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus court costs and attorney fees.
