An anonymous woman is seeking restitution for an alleged assault and robbery she suffered from a juvenile offender wearing an ankle bracelet while out on bond.
Jane Doe filed suit on Sept. 8 in Cook County Circuit Court, Law Division against Aaron Parks, Sentinel Offender Services LLC, and Cook County.
According to the complaint, on Sept. 10, 2014, Parks was charged with felony home burglary in juvenile court and was wearing an electronic monitoring ankle bracelet while on bond. Parks left his home for four hours and traveled to the area of South Indiana in Chicago. There, using a knife, he forced the plaintiff into an automobile, had her drive to an alley, stole her clothes and wallet and committed aggravated criminal sexual assault against her, the complaint states.
The plaintiff is suing over claims of aggravated kidnapping, sexual assault, and armed robbery against Parks; negligence on behalf of Sentinel, the electronic monitoring business responsible for the ankle bracelet and for monitoring Parks; and Cook County for willful and wanton failure to adequately supervise and train Sentinel properly.
The plaintiff seeks an amount of more than $50,000 from each defendant, plus interest, attorney and court costs.
The plaintiff is being represented by Francis Patrick Murphy of Corboy & Demetrio P.C. of Chicago.
