CHICAGO — The family of a deceased infant has filed a wrongful death claim against Rush University Medical Center; Affiliated Radiologists, S.C ; and doctors, identified as Joy Sclamberg, M.D. and Shawn Davies, M.D.; alleging negligence in medical care.

Armin Quinonez Jr., independent administrator of the estate of Diego Quinonez Ochoa, filed a complaint on Oct. 11 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper medical care to Diego Quinonez Ochoa.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Diego Quinonez Ochoa had an untreated hernia that contributed to his death. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to address the child's condition and take necessary steps in a timely manner to address the problems.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. He is represented by the firms of Pavalon & Gifford and Sostrin & Sostrin, both in Chicago.
