Renaissance Park South Nursing and Living Center faces accusation in woman's injury

CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased woman's estate is suing Renaissance Park South Nursing and Living Center; the nursing home's administrator, identified as Roland Carter; unknown owners and unknown nursing staff members, alleging negligence in nursing home care, stemming from a fall from a wheelchair.

Shirley J. Hawkins, as administrator of the estate of Bell Dora Turner, filed a complaint on Oct. 17 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper care to Turner.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Turner suffered a fall from her wheelchair which caused a clavicle fracture. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to properly secure Turner in her wheelchair while transporting her.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $75,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Calvita J. Fredrick, of Chicago.
