During a visit to Even Hotel Chicago-Tinley Park-Conv Ctr on September 15, 2023, she encountered multiple architectural barriers that hindered her access to facilities such as restrooms and food service areas. These barriers included improper door pressures, inadequate grab bars, and inaccessible seating arrangements.
Lois White has filed a lawsuit against Tinley Park Convention Center Hotel Owner, LLC in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division. The case, identified as 1:24-cv-4004, was filed on May 15, 2024.
White is seeking declaratory and injunctive relief to compel the hotel to remove these barriers and comply with ADA standards. She also requests an order for the hotel to revise its policies towards individuals with disabilities.
